Youth Ryde
At their meeting on the 6th February 2017, Ryde Town Council agreed to make a significant further investment in young people and take over provision of Youth services within the area. The Town Council is to set up a Youth Café in consultation with young people. This café will offer a wide range of physical, cultural and enterprise activities including music development and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as well providing access to important services such as sexual and mental health advice and support.
This initiative is being delivered with the active support of many other services including the Ryde Family Centre, Ryde Rotary, Sovereign Housing (Foyer), Quay Arts and the IW Music Hub and the Police. The Town Council will soon be appointing youth workers and consulting with young people and other youth service providers to get this new service up and running before the summer.
If you would like to comment or hear more about the proposals please contact the Town Council for further information.
