The Community Rail Partnership
The Community Rail Partnership (CRP) was launched in 2005 with formal designation granted from the Department for Transport (DfT) in Spring 2006. The Partnership has expanded over the years due to successful projects, meaning the CRP has expanded its executive memberships, including Ryde Town Council and some of the Island’s transport providers; this helps to ensure seamless and sustainable travel for residents and tourists. Island travel providers are working to encourage visitors and residents to use public transport across the Island in hope to reduce congestion and carbon footprint for a brighter, cleaner future, as well as experience the stunning views that the Isle of Wight has to offer.
The CRP has made a number of videos titled ‘Where Will Your Journey Take You?‘ to showcase what the beautiful Isle of Wight has to offer, featuring the Island Line. To view them, please click the links below.
The Isle of Wight CRP is partner to the Lymington-Brockenhurst Community Rail Partnership; this partnership manages and sometimes replicates the Isle of Wight’s successful projects, encouraging more people to visit the Island and New Forest.
