Network Ryde is an exciting youth project from Ryde Town Council; it was established in April 2017 to support young people in and around the town to achieve their potential and have fun. Network Ryde supports young people aged 11-19 from a dedicated youth café – 147 – located at 147 High Street, Ryde (opposite Iceland). 147 offers a safe space for young people to chill out, with access to PCs, iPads, Xbox and a Wii, plus boardgames, art materials AND free toast and hot chocolate!
From Monday to Friday, there are after-school drop-in sessions from 3-6pm. Plus specialist evening sessions including: the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award; Short Breaks arts and crafts activities for young people with disabilities and/or additional needs; and a Chill Out session for school Years 10-13. There is also a lunchtime drop-in for young people who are home educated, and 1:1 support from the Wheatsheaf Trust for 16-24 year olds who are not in education, employment or training. There will also be opportunities for group work, revision sessions, careers advice, support sessions, etc coming in the future.
In addition to the sessions at 147, Network Ryde also works in partnership with local organisations offering activities at venues including Ryde Skate Park and Waterside Pool.
For the most up to date timetable please view the Network Ryde social media pages below. We look forward to welcoming more young people to 147.
