– Superstar of Spring Sally Sears

Sally was nominated and voted to be Ryde’s Resident of the month for her dedication to litter picking in Ryde, especially litter picking on the seafront most days. Sally has given up countless hours contributing towards making Ryde a clean and beautiful place to be.

Speaking to Sally it is clear to see the passion she has for her community. Well done, Sally!

Sally said;

‘It has been said we only have another 11 years to prevent the irreversible damage from climate change. As a Christian I care for creation and when the environment suffers, human beings do too.  I want to set a good example for the whole community, let them see rubbish goes in the bin as litter creates more litter, which leads to anti-social behaviour when the environment looks unkempt. It is a good way for me to meet young people and interact with my community in Ryde, a town I love and enjoy very much.’

‘I give thanks that I can get out and enjoy making a difference every day which has obviously been appreciated by someone enough to nominate me! I am thankful that I have made that difference to them and hopefully to many.’

‘Thank you also to you, Ryde Town Council for setting up awards for passionate-hearted people making a difference.’

The next opportunity to show your appreciation and nominate someone you know will be in August for the title of Ryde’s Summer resident. Ryde’s Summer Resident nominations will be launched via Facebook, so keep your eyes peeled!
